Street Crossing

A bit shocked and angry; that was my feeling a few hours ago. While walking through the usual road to my boarding house, I often cross the main street over the zebra-cross. There is a traffic light built for this zebra-cross & if you want to cross the street you can press the button behind the traffic light to turn the lights to red. It’s easy-peasy –yet the people is not quite that way—.

When I’m about to cross, I saw a man who had already pressed the button from the opposite of the road, so the lights turns red. By then, I also crossed it. Yet some people –especially one with motorcycles—kept going on.. won’t stop a bit and it’s just “WTF!”.

The first one almost hit me, but he loosen up so he can avoid me easily, but with some “sigh” sound. Shockingly, somehow I replied by yelling at him. me pretty sure that it was reflex.

Secondly, a young guy. He KNOW that I’m crossing the street, yet he won’t loosen up. I tell him with a serious tone, telling him “It’s red, dude” while pointing my index finger to the red lights. He seemed embarrassed and then just gone like a wind.

I’ve never felt this liven-up feeling for quite long. And it’s kinda arousing my adrenaline. Anger, and it’s been a long time since the last time I felt that way…

Dentists.. sure are rich ( .__.)

I took a day off as of today, for two main reasons,

1. is to attend a job interview (wish me luck).
2. is to visit a dentist for patching left molar.

The latter, has just made me kind of shocked.

I had my left molar patched in my high school days, and it’s been years since it got off by itself, 2 weeks ago. So a re-patching is needed. After paying a visit to a dentist near my rent house, he told me that the cavity in my left molar is deep and need to be cleansed first, before ready to be patched.

“Hey Doc, how much is it?”,
he said, “75 thousands”.

And… I was wondering…
*woot.. quite pricey just for cleansing*

And furthermore, my curiosity made me ask one more vital question,

Me, “Doc, how much should I pay for patching my molar?”
Doc, ”250 thousands for patching + 75 thousands for the drugs”
Me, *jaws-dropped* + moment of silence
Me, ”Could it be…. cheaper?”
Doc, ”It’s already cheap”
Me, “Oh.. is that so.. okay..”
Doc, “Come back here again 2 days from now”
Me, “Yep.”

And so, he told me to come back 2 days from now.

Those moment I’ll never forget. Going to a dentist is pretty pricey; embrace yourself and your pocket before you go.

Where have I been since 2010?

Heya.. I was playing and hanging around with Tumblr, and just wondering “Which one is the best blog site?”. And it turns out to blew up many choices for me in which, totally depends on my need of blogging.
I was planning to moving on, from Blogger to Tumblr, transfer all of my post in this current blog (stepmark) to my Tumblr blog (byhaqi). And unfortunately, not all of what I’ve wanted to do in Tumblr are.. satisfying. Especially blogging with text and some other stuffs around these text blogging.

It’s so-so for text blogging. The auto-save and draft feature is not yet available in Tumblr.
(dear Tumblr dev, hear my wish.. would you?).

Tumblr is good, –IMHO— for picture blogging; share some images or photos you’ve captured, drew, made. It’s totally a perfectly fit place for that and I’m currently using it to host my picture blog & some short thoughts (byhaqi).
And after these 2 years of absence from Blogger (plus, any other years..), I’ll have to stay with Blogger, .. and start text blogging again.

"TCP/IP is not enabled for this connection" , WTF!

3 days ago, I had this problem right after coming back from Surabaya to Jombang. I plugged the LAN cable to ethernet port on my laptop, but no Internet Access is gained.  Strangely, pinging the router (192.168.1.1) is not working like it was, the CMD window was giving “Destination Host Unreachable” crap. When I tried to repair the connection, the windows is giving me a -crappy– message like this:

Lucky me, my father got a PC that had already connected to internet, so I can easily ask Google for solutions. And then I found the thing about resetting WinSock entries and resetting TCP/IP stack to installation defaults by useing Netsh command utility. At first I really don't know if this thing have something to do with my problem. But it works! like a -charm– 

There are 2 methods available for the tricks, the first is done manually and the second, done automatically.

Let's see how the first method works. By using the Netsh command utility, first you have to:

• Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt.
  
• Type netsh winsock reset catalog to reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults
  Resetting the socket which manages the TCP/IP. This can be used to handle network problems (browser problem, IP address related problems, etc..)
  
• And then type this one netsh int ip reset reset.log to reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults.
  PS. reset.log or C:\reset.log represents the address of the file in which the reporting will be stored
  
• Finally, reboot the machine -in order for this fix to works properly-
  

For the second method, it's pretty nifty and need not to be explained as clearly as above trick. You only have to download the -freeware- WinSock XP Fix. and then run it by double clicking the program, click the [Fix] button. Upon finished installing or fixing, reboot your PC or Laptop.

Upon rebooted, VOILA! your network will properly work again -restored- like it used to be. :D

isoHunt – preferably for searching out -pirated- movie & game torrents.
TokyoToshokan – special BitTorrent site for japanese media –especially anime & J-Pops-
Demonoid – excellent private trackers for poor seeded torrents.
Demonoid (Power Search) – search result sorted by the most downloaded torrent.
Google – as you had already know, the search engine guru –placed last for no specific reason-

Having these custom URL formats are helpful for me, they’re pretty nifty :)

Get Me OUT of This Cave

Lemme tell you about the cause of my first step towards my future.

Looking back, since the day I started learning about programming techies, I felt "It's not fit in" and I wonder why. What I want the most from this academic field is the overseas degree. Even though now I'm not sure how to get it, because of some serious problems in my family owned business. Knowing that my dad was desperately trying to make me graduate from the university of mine, finally has made me realize that, it's not good as it been anymore...

20 and Got No Driving License

Unlike any other people, I don't have any driving license especially for motorcycle ride -until I wrote this post- . Lately I thought it was really a big saver if I had applied for it . I'm working at a software house located in Surabaya, Indonesia . The main office officially was based in Jakarta, they had opened some branch offices all over Java -west, middle and east are included- .

As now, I'm placed in one of their branch office in Surabaya . The workplace are far from the office, and often I wondered if I've gotten a motorcycle, it'd be a great help! -once again- unfortunately, I got no driving license .

Simple Note for May

1 month has passed since I told you about my 1st salary experience.

The people in my workplace are really nice and hilarious at times. They often made several ridiculous jokes to get rid drowsiness and fatigue. They are fun and really awesome, why awesome? Each of them could get a hold of their own responsibility with ease. It seemed like they got used to the problems and had long mastered several ways to solve them. I envy them; I wanted to be like them in problem solving -especially in programming and stuffs-

1st Salary = Payback!

As of today, I’ve received my -very- first salary.

Therefore, I’m happy -indeed!-. And I count it as a payback for all of the hardships I’ve been facing until the end of this month. I wrote some of my grumpy side and I was at the state of depressed when I wrote that post.

Let me tell you something about, how it exactly feels when you received your first salary...

An Unfold Pathway

- March -

I began to realize, doing something which is wrong is better than not doing anything. I missed my sophomore days a lot, I want to take bachelor degree even if I have to take it in my home country. What I’m looking for was -actually- an overseas degree, that way I might get more unbelievable experience and maybe some of them are unforgettable. I’m a NEET right now, which means - Not in Employment, Education or Training.
Realized that being a NEET was really horrible, I looked for a job vacancies that could –at least- accept my current programming skills. The bad things are, I haven’t practiced for a while and you know, if you rest, you’ll rust. At first, I was intending to apply for a job that doesn’t need much from my programming skills, but the outcome was otherwise …

Delayed Schedule

It’s February 2010,

And I’m still resides in my home country -Indonesia- . I should be at Melbourne by now, looking for fully furnished vacant place or flat to live in 1.5 years ahead. What for? I had taken a major that would grant me an international bachelor degree in one of the –a little bit infamous- university in Surabaya. There are 8 sophomores –including me- and 2 of them had gone abroad doing some adaptation and stuffs. Some of us didn’t do well in our IELTS test; we must pass the passing grade given by the university, 6.0 each and we aren’t. Thus the schedule was delayed...

New Year 2010 Vacationer

Last month in 2009 -20 December-

My family and I had a vacation to western part of Java island . Using our family car -Ford Everest- we spent about 16 hours long trip right from Jombang -one of East Java provinces- straight to Jakarta . We are supposed to attend our relative engagement party at Jakarta and that relative is my Mother youngest brother . Not also our family who had invited to come , all member of my Mother's big family did also come . I had longing for this moment , one big family gathering in one place and share a lot about their daily life . Such an experience is indeed make me want to treasure it .

Blooming 20

The time I started to create this post is 4:16 AM . I'm staying over one of my friends place , having slumber party , lol! Nothing special with today's slumber party , just watching some popular Korean Show entitled with "Family Outing" and something entitled with -CMIIW- "G7 - Girls Seven". It was an all-out LOL event , and I almost reached the peak of the laugh.

Breadou Chocolate Swiss Roll

Yahoo ... I finally received the packet contains one Chocolate Swiss Roll . It's extremely fluffy and soft ( too exaggerating , LOL! )

I would like to have that CAMARO, please ..

Tunjungan Plaza , Surabaya – 7:30 PM - was the place where we started to hunt for some photos . My mates said that Chevrolet is holding a Car Exhibition in there and a CAMARO was inside the plaza (on the first floor to be precise) . Some SPG was there at noon but , it was too late to see them . And yet , we still chose to visit the exhibition .

Being able to see a Chevrolet CAMARO that was used in Transformers Filming was the biggest pride for me , one of Transformers Fan .

Yes , I am .

Today , 4:15 AM , I still can’t sleep well after finished with my meal (Yep, I was about to fasting) . My mind was wandering to somewhere to a place called “Nowhere” . I began to think about myself , remembering those old memories when I was in my youth days (a little bit Melancholic isn’t it !?) .
6:00 AM , I picked up my keys that was hanging on the door . Wanted to feel the morning breeze I  chose to open the door and walked outside .

Do you fasting?

Yesterday, it took place in Gramedia Expo , I was just walked around the exhibition with my friends and received some brochure about computer or digital camera (Yeah, it's a Computer Exhibition) .
Not so long after I came, everybody was muttering to each other, asking their friends whether it's time to break their fasting or not .
The time has come (to break fasting, of course), there are some SPG (Sales Promotion Girl) giving away some Ta'jil (some kind of snacks) to everybody which is Moslems .
I was fasting too at the time and I also want that Ta'jil .

I began to approach the SPG, and told her that I was fasting too .
